Blessings to all of our church family!
I write to you this week in with a prayerful heart. As we all are aware that our country is once again at war, I ask us all to take a moment of prayerful contemplation with our Lord Jesus Christ. We pray for a peaceful end to the destruction and killing of the innocent. This is not a time for political ramblings, but a call for common sense and a willingness to work with those who we disagree with and come to the table. Yes, we use those terms in our relationship with the risen Christ, and we need to learn from our faith in God to end wars of all types. When we offer the bread and cup in worship, we invite everyone to receive Christ’ offering. So too, we need to invite everyone to the table of peace. May the world receive a large dose of the grace and peace of God in healing our broken world. There is world of love waiting for us all if only we embrace it’s calling to us. May we look forward to the day.
As we all try to navigate an ever-changing world, we look forward to the coming of Holy Week. Palm Sunday is March 29th. Maundy Thursday is April 2nd. Good Friday is April 3rd and the glory of Easter is April 5th. Please attend and join in this holiest of weeks when we witness the death and resurrection of Christ together in our sanctuary of St. Paul’s. We relive and tell the story each year, but I find that all of us are in need of a good dose of God’s grace, hope, love and YES, PEACE this year in particular.
This little church on the corner of Felton and Mathews in Redondo Beach continues to amaze us all. Despite its size it rises up to feed over 1600 food insecure souls every month. Time and time again we answer the call of a hungry soul. When Jesus walked the roads on His journey He asked for a cup of water and a share of bread. And in return He offered “Living Water” to change hearts and souls. The first step is to be present in one’s life. The second is to extend a hand in hospitality. That is when relationship begins. A relationship is where the world heals.
Our “little church” rises to those tasks each day and I am so proud to be a part of its ministries.
Please continue to support and be a part of “Living Grace” given freely to heal a broken world.
See ya in church!!
Pastor John
