Fall Retreat at Methodist Camp
Are you interested in an all-church retreat at one of our United Methodist camp facilities in the fall (October)? In order to reserve a spot, we need to determine if there are enough people interested to begin planning a weekend retreat. The cost would be approximately $80 per person for two nights and five meals if we do our own cooking. We are trying to secure the camp that has the best facilities to accommodate our senior citizens so that we can truly make this an all-church event. If you are seriously interested, please call the church office by Feb. 15 or write “Retreat” on the Sunday registration form.
When a group takes time out for spiritual refreshment at a retreat, the whole church body benefits:
-
Renewed and refreshed, they are able to share the key truths that gave them a new perspective in their walk with Jesus Christ. Unity developed among those at the retreat spreads through the congregation as they return to fellowship
- Relationships at home are dealt with in a more positive and hopeful manner due to the chance to rest and find renewal in God
- Revived and restored teachers and leaders are better prepared to encourage and minister
The California-Pacific Conference of the United Methodist Church has eight camping or retreat sites located throughout Southern California that provide a wide range of opportunities for people who wish to retreat in the mountains. These sites are scattered from Arroyo Grande in the North to Julian in the South. Each site is different, providing a unique place for people to dialogue together or to be alone.
Each of the campsites is available year round. They provide heated facilities. Each site provides meal service for groups. Some have kitchens available for groups to do their own cooking.
